Hurricane Rita

As all of you may know, Hurricane Rita is due to hit Galviston, Texas on Saturday morning. It has now been upgraded to a category 5 hurricane Both my sisters live in Houston and have now been ordered to evacuate out. My youngest sister has managed to get her horses into temp homes out of the danger area, but, neither of my sisters can get anyone to take thier dogs in. They're packing tents and going right up into the hills, out of harms way hopefully. At least this way they can keep thier dogs with them.

Please keep my sisters and thier families in your thoughts. I hope and pray that they'll all get through this monster.

Thanks Jax. I've just spoken to my mum and she said that my sisters and thier husbands have evacuated. They're going to a State park near Oklahoma which has erected shelters for any evacuees. Both of them are distraught. My youngest sister has just moved into her 'dream' home, which won't be there when they return and my other sisters house will be under water

At least when we go over there in November, we can help rebuild thier homes, even if we have to camp out in tents. As long as they're all ok, that's the important thing.

I will Jax.

I'm worried sick about them I'm supposed to be going out but can't drag myself away from the tv We have no other contact with them now and no-one has either of thier cell phone numbers

They're hoping to return home on Sunday, but I'll be surprised if they get back that soon.

I'll be thinking of them and every-one else going to get caught up in this hurricane.

At least they have evacuated - lets hope there is minimal damage done

Oh Wolfie- what a horrible situation.
The waiting and the inevitability adds its own horror. However, at least they have the chance to make themselves safe, and even to take a few precious things (photos etc). The tsunami victims had no warning and so many lost their lives as well as their homes. A little consolation maybe.
Hope they will be fine, hope the hurricane heads off somewhere harmless.
