Candie - do you only get it cheaper with working families tax credits, or other benefits too?

I had both my collies done for 40.00 and both my cats for 25.00.
We live near a vetenary college and they offer it at a cheaper rate as students get to watch the procedure being done. They did not however do the operations themselves as I asked this question before they had them in

I think this is an excellent idea, also even gifting the cost of the operation to an Animal Charity if you can afford (if you dont have any family to do it for)!

It cost us around £130.00 (cant remember exactly) to have Kip spayed that included all the return visits and medication throughout. I was really pleased with the way they did it although I was a little disgruntled when I found out that a friend of mine in the south of England had his bitch done for £68

I dont grudge paying for her to get done though it was money well spent!

Hervur I dont know what type of benefits you mean but I do know that the PDSA will do it for free to anybody who is on the dole or a state benefit alone (that is doesnt work but relies solely on benefits).

I don't work, and I'm on disability living allowance, and incapacity benefit.

If I can't get it cheaper/free, i'm more than willing to pay, but it would be good to save a pew pennies!!
