Swimming and eye irritation

Hi there,
I have a year-old Newfoundland/St. Bernard mix. We recently (yesterday) took her to a canine hydrotherapy pool for a swim, and were pleased with how it went so bought about $200 worth of sessions.
Today her eyes look really irritated, red with a bit of discharge, and I've noticed her rubbing her eye with her paw a couple of times.
Has anyone else experienced this eye irritation and have any advice on what we should do? I'm not sure if I should rush her to the vet or just wait until the irritation goes down a bit. Thanks in advance for any advice

Hi, I would take her to the vet,if she's rubbing them they are definitely irritating her. Probably just needs drops to flush out whatever is causing it hopefully, better let someone have a look just to be on the safe side. Hope she's o.k

Took her to the vet today. She has uveitis and they gave her some drops. Hopefully she improves. I also am not sure if I want to take her back or not. I feel like swimming is good for her joints, but I also don't want her to go through this every time.

None yet, really. He said he was going to talk to their eye specialist and then email me back. I'm thinking I should call the people at the hydrotherapy place to see if this is a regular thing.

My dog often gets sticky eyes after playing in water, usually it clears up after a couple of days. If your dog was fine before going in the pool it sounds like she has reacted to chemicals in the water? I would ask them if they put chlorine or any other chemicals in there which may have caused this, maybe they will offer you a refund.
There was a post on here a couple of weeks ago about apple cider vinegar and how a couple of drops in the dogs water cleared up sticky eyes.
