Minky Chinchilla at the vets today

I've just dropped Minky Chincihlla off at the vets to have his teeth filed.

Please wish him luck as he is so small I worry about the GA. My vet is brilliant so I know that he is in safe hands but you can't help but worry.

Hi BrandieSnap,

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I didn't get time to sign in last night.

Minky is home but the poor soul had a rough ride. He is approx 8-9 years old (not sure how old as I found him dumped) so the GA was hard for him to recover from but he is eating

Let's hope that he won't need it done again too soon

Aww, poor thing I'm glad he seems to be doing well though

Is 8-9 old for a chinchilla? I don't know how long they usually live for

brandie, chins can live for about 20 years, but 8 or 9 is a good age. they also do very badly under general, so it inadvisable to have it done unless it's serious.

I'm glad minky's a bit better now Chellie, hope he doesn't need it again too soon!

xx

oh bless, we have a chin too!

he was dumped on our doorstep - one of the joys of people knowing that you are conected with the rspca!

i was only going to foster him - but you know me, the kids got attached to him (and called him scooby!), and he's still here 1 year later!!
