I do find it interesting the way the Conservatives still get the blame for so much when Labour have been in power for 8 years Surely if their ideas were so bad then you would have thought that Labour would have changed them? After all, they were quick enough to ban hunting....

This is not meant to be provocative by the way, I just find it interesting...

Regards the nhs, my mums Drs have recently changed to a no appt system, before she would wait a wk or more to see her Dr. She had a couple of mini strokes easter w/end & we are still waiting for an appt for her for the stroke rehab clinic & also an appt for the physio clinic.
I looked online for all the help she could get & how the gov. say its commited to keeping the elderly independent with help so they can stay at home, which is what my mum wants. Anyway in theory it sounds great, practice its rubbish! Despite being urgent & high prioritory case she still hasn`t had anybody come to help her wash, cook her meals etc. They are meant to come daily to do her meals & several times a week to help her wash & also to see if she manages to dress herself. When the social worker came to assess her he told me straight the agencies who do this didn`t have the man power to carry out her care package. Only one word for it, disgusting!!!
I won`t even go in to what happened to my sister & the state of the hossy & care she had before she died last year. Tho I did make a formal complaint & had unreserved apology from them! I don`t think labour have done a lot of good myself.....

My vote in the poll went to the Cons.

My present member is a left wing Labour man, he voted against the Iraqi war and voted for the hunting ban he is a active in my local area and works hard and is a good MP all of which support.

The reason I will voting against him (I live in a marginal 800 hundred votes ) is that any Gov with a large Majority tends to be a bad Gov.

I also have no time for people who do not vote.

He he, probably in the same way I find it so unbeliaveable that Labour get all the blame when the conservatives were just as bad in their day! Both as bad as each other!

Sorry Ripsnorter... I missed your reply to me

The problem I have with going private is that I have no option but to pay for the NHS aswell. Personally, it doesn't seem fair to me to pay for something I would have no intention of using. (I think we're probably political opposites though )

That's ok it was a general reply anyway! I think we probably are political opposites, but then I'm not really into politics (just like that bloke on the ads!! ). I understand what you're saying, but I think the American way (no NHS etc) is even more deeply floored in that if you can pay for health care you get it if you can't you do without! What would people less able than you or me do without free health service, they may well have to do without. Not a good example of a decent society from my perspective.
At the end of the day it's up to the government to pull their socks up and put the money where it's needed because before long there won't be an NHS!

Example, i was unwell alot last yr and i had to wait 3 MONTHS yes 3 months to go to hospital!!

I'm putting my tin hat on before I start here, but, If your need is urgent you usually get in straight away. An example of what I mean is, can you remember the lady with a problem with her shoulder, she had been waiting ages, (I agree it was a disgrace having to wait) but she was coping well, there was no threat to her life and she could have died having the operation, so therefore to me that was one candidate that could wait.

Now on the other hand a person with heart complaint would and probably should get seen to fairly quickly because it is of life and death.

Now last year I was ill with the problems I had, the consultant saw me on the morning and wanted to operate on the afternoon, so I will be honest and say I haven't had to wait, so I may be biased.

I don't wish to upset anyone with what I have said. We all think of our selves and family as being too important to wait, but the sad fact of life is that there are too many ill people in the world and not enough money to go around.

Ian (hiding in my bomb shelter now)
