The old Mini was a great car, with superb handling, liveley engine, but unfortunately the old tin worm (rust) loves them.Years ago,i used to have a 1275GT which was quite a rapid (or rabid?) machine and stuck to the road like a dodgem car! Sadly, the years caught up on it and floorpan ended up looking like a sieve!

Old Mini's are definately better..after all you can do this to them

Take out the silly wee gutless engines and put in a VX 2 litre 16v red top

I can see by the picture you have a box with Weber carbs sitting on top of the roof-these will increase the standard 156BHP of the engine by atleast 30HP.That is gonna be one very very fast mini!

Definitely prefer the new mini! I think it needs to bigger to be able to compete in such a huge market! We had old ones when I was little and they were awful, like the picture my dad had to take them apart every weekend just to keep them going. Drove an old mini last year and really didn't change my opinion, a true bone shaker! Nice to look at but not nice to drive! Sorry!

Yeah but the engine itself will make a bigger difference....Although stopping it from taking off might be abigger problem...a 2 litre 16v mini............a lot of HP and not a lot of weight...........

Ooh cant decide on this one folks. Last time my car was in for a service they gave me A new Mini Cooper S to play with, it was so much fun!! and so speedy, it had a union jack on the roof and little extra bug eye spot lights. I didn't want to give it back. Although I do have a soft spot for the old minis, I learnt to drive in one.

Ooh what a dilemma
