Lucy Girl Lab x

Lucy Girl is a six-month-old, female Labrador and Collie crossbreed, who came to The Mayhew because her previous owner couldn't cope with the responsibility involved in caring for a puppy. She knows basic commands and is very intelligent and eager to learn and this, coupled with the fact that she is very responsive to treats, will make her easy and delightful to train. She will need to go to training classes. She can be left alone for a couple of hours without any problems. She has not yet been fully toilet-trained. This inquisitive and sweet-natured dog is lively and bouncy. She is playful with other dogs but does not seem to have ever known the joy of toys. She is still very nervous around strangers and her new guardians, who should be experienced owners of labrador-type dogs, will need to devote a great deal of attention to socialising her with new environments and new people on a daily basis.

We would be happy to rehome Lucy Girl with a family where there are teenagers, but no younger children as she really needs a quiet home with an owner who is home most of the time and has plenty of time to devote to her. It would be great to find her a home with a sociable, confident existing dog who can show her the doggy ropes. Her new guardians will be taking on a fifteen-year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.
