Update On Keira (boxer)

KEIRA HAS BEEN TO VET'S TODAY.
she had her heart scanned and had the electrodes on.
there is a slight murmur nothing to worry about said the cardiologist
she also has a narrowing in her main artery to the heart which the cardio said is very common in boxers but should not affect her quality life.
they think her fainting episodes are now related to her coiltis(seemingly the nerve ends of her bowels can affect her heart)
she has heart machine on now and has to keep it on for 24hrs as the cardio needs to see how her heart is when excersing etc....thing is she won't walk never mind run with it on she hates it
i have to take the heart machine off tomorrow and post to the cardio.will have to wait about a week for results but he is 99%sure it is not her heart that is making her faint.
we have an appointment at vet's on friday to sort a allergy diet out for keira to help her bowels.
a big weight off my shoulders i can tell you..now to sort her wee bowles out

THATS GREAT NEWS.
can you get her to forget about the machine by playing etc it is to see if the heartbeat is dropping beats in the 24 hr period.
the more you can get her to do the better the picture will be.
mumurs are normal in boxers so get out there and take her for that walk she was after.
but take a deep breath first.........lol

So pleased for you and Keira that nothing serious seems to be amiss with her heart. It sounds as though the cardiologist has been very thorough. I can imagine Keira is not too impressed with the Holter monitor

Hope you can get the colitis sorted out quickly

he was a lovely man s/b.
his knowledge of boxers was top notch ...he also grew up with them...his fave dogs.
he was very impressed with keira said she was a star and very content and calm.
infact said she was the calmest boxer he had met and he was sure she had a wee bit lab in her
she was scared when i left her tho but he said everything went well
i really need to get her exercising tomorrow tho or there is no point in this monitor being on her
he wil get reading and wonder if she ever walks

He certainly sound like a good man - and one with good taste in dogs What a good girl your Keira was

If you can take her out somewhere interesting tomorrow she may be too distracted by new sights and smells to worry about the monitor
