Not sure what to think, I think with any large breed, often going bigger can cause joint problems,
rotties used to be bigger, but the health has improved when they got a bit smaller

It`s only a big Leonberger isn`t it? With a silly name?
Personally I think this `bigger is better` has to be a Bloke thing. It`s always men who comment that my GSD`s are smaller than theirs

Theresa Pelon is a womans name I believe

Well I am not sure what to think myself...If it was really originaly that they had to be min 80 cm tall...
Where would you need to look to find the original standard for leos?
I am just curious if this is the truth what is said about them (min and max height)...

The Leonberger club of GB will give you the standards or just google leonberger.

yes but king GSDs were crossed with St. bernardes and other breeds, they are not pure GSD!

That is why I am intrigued by this breed - if it really is what they claim it is...Not sure I would want one tho because they probably do suffer from joint problems...

about the standars...
They only give you the new, improved standars on google - because it is the standard valid today...
