Evening all!!
Just wanted to say Hi, just joined so thought id say a quicky hello
We are a family of 6 with one on the way, mum dad, two kids (2 and 4) and 2 dogs (the one on the way is puppy BTW)
We have a 8-9 year old mastiff cross bitch called Sadie, we rescued her at about 12 month old from our local pound. A fantastic gorgeous lady with a brilliant temperament.
Our other dog is 2 year old lurcher called Boots, he's a whippet crossed with a bit of greyhound and english bull amongst other things. He's a great family dog, gets on so well with the kids. Poor lad has been through the mill in his short 2 years. We found he was wheat intolerant by the age of around 9 months, he was always underweight until we came to realise that he had this intolerance. In april he had an accident with glass. he managed to get it embedded in his front dew claw area, there were tiny shards remaining which the vet could not remove, and ultimately has had to have a weight bearing toe removed in a last ditch effort to save his leg. He has just had the stitches out and we are waiting now to see if this has worked. Thank goodness for insurance - this incident has cost a small fortune!!
We have a puppy on the way, he is 6 weeks, a ridgeback cross greyhound/deerhound. We think we are gonna call him Troy. We collect him 2 weeks yesterday and am so looking forward to having him, hopefully it will help divert the attention of Boots, a very energetic little soul, away from our ageing mastiff cross Sadie who sometimes gets a little fed up with the constant attention she receives from him. Bless her, she does have to put up with alot from him.
anyway thats us, it wasn't quite the quickie intro I first thought I was gonna write, got a bit carried away methinks!!
