If you check your car on Parkers, it tells you your emissions, and your Tax band.

Phew!! Hooray - mine is staying the same (£175 a year).

thanks for not beating me up MYS LOL

i guess it gives folk food for thought some will now see they are too expensive to maintain others will say they need it so thats how its ment to work

I drive a zafira BUT i now don't need 7 seats YES i will keep it but if the tax goes too high then i won't after all i don't need all the room SO the moral of the story is LOL

if you don't need it BUT want it then MR Brown says you gotta pay for it ....

PS as for needing it for buisness then most expensies can be claimed through tax

but if only those who can keep affording the increases opt to keep the vehicle that's not really fair cuz then it's like posh people can do what they like while those of us less well off can forget it.

So it wont stop those posh twats taking a kid to school in their big vehicles it will stop the people that probably got the vehicle for what they needed it for.

I think its madness including people carriers. If it wasnt for them most people with large families would have to use two cars or make two trips. They must save petrol / diesel in the long run.

But it's not just 4x4's that carry the higher VED.

People carriers and some larger saloons as well as sports cars come under the higher band tax rate.

I drive a 4x4 as there was nothing else on the market in my price bracket that could do everything I needed a car to do. Simple fact.

I'm pretty "green" in nearly every other way (recycling, food miles, other carbon foot-print items)
Not every 4x4 driver is a "chelsea tractor" owner
