Well she was really nice, but she kept saying how bad WFTs were, and how they are a highly specialised breed and they a naughty and can't be left alone and have skin infections all the time blablabla.

It really annoyed me, especially as she was a WFT owner herself.
She sounded like a cheery soul , but don't listen to her, Archie may be a wee rascal sometimes, but that's all part of his charm. You can usually tell by this age what their personality will be like, so I don't think there is anything to worry about with the wee fella, particularly considering the amount of work you've put in .

However, I must own up , my Olive is one of these terrible terriers you read about . She is very challenging to live with, I don't know many people that could deal with Olive - she is very high maintainance, always on duty. She doesn't deal well with any kind of discipline, if you raise your voice she sees it as a challenge, I wouldn't dare use any kind of physical discipline as she would never back down. She really needs to be handled gently, lots of praise and rewarding (bribing ). She has a very high prey drive, and lives to chase. Olive has ATTITUDE.....but I wouldn't change her for the world. Kevin says Olive is the doggy version of me.....and I think I agree .

lol @ Olive

As long as you love her that's the main thing... and you know how to handle her and you wouldn't swap her for the world!

I don't really think Archie is a terrible terrier, I know his personality and he is probably the most placid terrier I have seen, which I think might be more to do with his upbringing... although his breeder has told me Archie's grandad is like that too So it makes me realy angry. This woman was holding Archie and he was licking her face and cuddling her as she told me how awful terriers are

We then went and proved her wrong, we sat down, had a couple of drinks with my friend, and Archie lay peacefully on my lap the whole time... and looked very bemused when 2 other dogs (one a border terrier) got into a bit of a scrap in the pub

I can quite honestly say that all our dogs can be taken out places and they just lye down and chill! Dougal is the most relaxed dog I have ever met. He is always happy and just loves people! And don’t get me started on kids cause he adores them! I think terriers are the best and I wont let anyone tell me that they are not cause I might just swing for them!!! I think that some of the smaller terrier breeds are a bit more scrappy but I know with my breed that they are certainly not scrappy!!

Aww, sorry to hear about Sabre Foxy Do you have any photos of him, he sounded like a lovely boy.

I solved the problem by grooming him when I took him a walk. I used to get to a certain point and then make him sit and he was so interested in what else was going on that he forgot to groom me as well and just sat nicely whilst I groomed him He did get out of the habit as he got older, I think it was just his silly puppy ways - aw I miss the lad, wish he was still with me

Myschievous, no he hasn't had his summer do yet just trying to scrape some cash together and find the right person to do it! But don't worry I will post pics as soon as he's done!

Just for you Tuti! One of the few half decent photos I have.

If I just pull at the hair it comes out leaving a shorter coat underneath?? Is that like hand stripping?

Rip that sounds like handstripping Archie has an undercoat which is a bit softer and finer, and a top coat which is getting wiry but u gotta ask Olive cos she's the expert I have only just started this...

Loki does this when I try to get him off the sofa. My mum thought it was really funny when he curled his top lip at me but I won in the end.

I had to laugh at the pair of tights by the way.

I am dealing with it by going back to yelping loudly and it does work, he backs off and just looks surly.
