The A team to be remade

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7856758.stm

Somethings are best well left alone and this is one.
It always makes you wonder does hollywood have any original ideas.

Well, the concensus of opinion in this house is 'That's just wrong!'

And they've been asked to make it as real as possible without cheesing it up? The appeal of The A Team WAS that it was a bit cheesy and no one ever actually got shot. Don't mess with Mr T!

I noticed they have remade Friday the 13th too, being released, funnily enough on, Friday 13th Feb.

They should just leave well alone! Perhaps this is the result of the recent Hollywood writers strike?

I loved the A team the way it was, why cant they come up with new idea's instead of remaking old ones

So thats another programme/film ruined to make money

The new Friday the 13th isn't a remake of the first film..

I disagreed with the remake of Starsky & hutch but actually quite enjoyed it..same with Dukes..so time will tell..

I also read in sfx there going to be remaking
'nightmare on elm street',
if anyone knows the awful film producer Micheal Bay(aka transformers) you will understand why I feel its going to be a disaster in the making!

I can see it now, helicopters and huge explosions..........

watch this space

Sorry but I think if Ridley Scott is directing it it should be ace and I for one am looking forward to it.

Depending on casting of course as that will make or break.

Ridley Scott isn't directing though, Joe Carnahan is directing.
It is being produced by Ridley's production company Scott Free with Ridley's brother as executive producer.

Time will tell I guess.

I think the only thing I don't like about remakes is the fact that the remake might be the only version some kids today watch and therefore know.
When we were small, and there was no video and only 3 tv channels, so I watched a lot of old tv and movies, great classics, mainly because there was nothing else to watch and it was too bad to go out. So I learnt to love and appreciate some great film/tv/characters.

Nowadays with so many channels and access to everything some kids just don't bother.

I mean, for example, I'd hate to think of kids only knowing Steve Martin as Inspector Clouseau...... oh dear...... or St. Trinian's with Russell Brand instead of the great Alistair Sim & George Cole.

I thought the remakes were enjoyable but neither were a patch on on the original tv series. Also they were a different type of film, they seemed to involve alot more comedy and slapstick if you get what I mean.

Time will tell but dont hold much hope.
