Archie, Terrier x, DOB 02.09

Archie, Terrier x, DOB 02.09

His Story: Archie was taken into another rescue as a 6 month old pup and the fosterer kept him; homed with teenage children. The young children next-door used to 'goad' him and when he started to react to them when they were leaning over the fence the neighbour claimed he was 'a dangerous dog'. He never nipped. He was then mixed in a pack of 7 dogs over the course of 5 days; off lead on walks. He settled with one fluent cat, but wasn't happy with a Siamese. Archie is a little defensive with very young children due to the harassment he received.

Homing Requirement: Archie is a crossbreed with a little terrier in. He needs remedial work with children, so not to live with children. Should soon gain confidence with sensible, respectful children. He was fine with the tweens he lived with. Owners will need to be 'conscious' of his tormented history. Could live with another fluent dog. He is gentle, mixes with other dogs well outside after his initial excitement of coming through the kennel block.

Advert: Archie has lived within a family with a 14 year old girl and 16 year old boy. The girl used to walk him down to the beach when she got home from school. He is used to being left and meets people and dogs well. He has an unfortunate history of very young (3-6 year old) next-door children targeting him, trying to stir him up. They would run down the garden screaming and goading him, with no parental control. He lost his home over it. He needs a stable caring home who will rejoice in Archie. His vibe is gentle and in fact tolerant, but care will be needed to offer him remedial work to build his trust in young children again.

Archie is so lovely and is one of the calmest dogs we have had in. He shows intelligence and is very adaptable. In the right family he should reach his full potential as the loving, caring dog he 'so is'! He needs a dog experienced home who can teach him, command him and above all love him. With appropriate praise, his confidence will be appropriately shaped. We have found him to be very special.

"Please note Archie is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found".
