Not recommended as it uses female hormones. Not a true reflection of chemical castration at all. If you are considering a temporary castration, use "Suprelorin" its exactly a testosterone suppressant. I use it for my males and they pay no attention to my in season females.

It lasts about 6 months and is an implant, not unlike a microchip in size. It dissolves over time.

To see if castrating him would change his dominant behaviour

To be honest if he is 5mths like Layla says, I doubt "dominant" would describe him.

As you have been advised on here, and also on another forum, I think getting in a good qualified behaviourist is the way to go.

Behaviourist, or trainer? There is a difference.

And reputable ones will not be recommending neutering without first having seen you & your dogs and how they are behaving.

Thats what vets would suggest he is far too young it could have very serious negative effects on him. INSIST on the implant, by the time it wears off he will be old enough for you to make a more informed decision.

Vets dont live with the negative effects of what they suggest, they just get more financial benefit from it!
