I love red wine...and Irish cider (Magners).......I do not drink very often now...maybe a bottle once a fornight or so......unless on holiday then O/H and i have a half bottle of wine with meal at night...

I used to drink every night, just a couple of glasses of wine or couple of tins of cider, but I was getting big problems with stomach and weight, so I have not cut it out almost altogether and to be honest I do not miss it...

last weekend we had friends round so I had a 3 or 4 glasses of wine, in about 4 hours, but I really suffered on the sunday!

I don't drink regulary, but in the past if I have been with someone I have drunk quite a bit, if I'm out in a pub/club I drink lager, but if there's anyone in the house with me I used to drink straight whiskey. Once a friend of mine came, he's older than me, between us we drank three quarters of a litre bottle of Famous Grouse in about 4 hours!! But now the only drink I have is a drop of whiskey in my coffee, and of course Blackie has a wee drop of it too. (about 1cm left in bottom of cup.)

What nobody enjoys a drink? I admit - do! (when not pregnant, obviously!) I'm happy for alcohol to have its place but agree it's important to be careful not to let it take over. My OH doesn't drink at all.

Funnily enough I drink less on a girls night out and usually stay boringly sober (Too expensive in the pubs, doesn't taste quite right and I find it too much to try to drink in the short time we stay in each pub!) than I would at home; say, sitting in the garden, sipping away reading a book or writing. I enjoy a glass or two with lunch with my OH.

I love a good dry white wine - sauvignon blanc, pinot grigio, etc. - and find Baileys addictive, hence I try to keep it for special occasions like Irish boating holidays, but don't always succeed! I've missed a cool glass of Baileys while being pregnant at Christmas and my birthday and now with the warm weather, but reassure myself that at least I'm not getting fat or getting Tigger addicted . Mind you, if I was addicted I don't suppose I'd have been able to do without.
