Which digital camera should I buy?

Hey uys

Need your help.

I'm off for a doc's appointment in a good hour's time, and thought I would go to the photoshop on my way home, and look at a camera.

I have between £120 and £270. I want a fairly reasonable prized one, so the cheaper the better, just a good quality.

Now, I'm gonna use it for taking pics (and video clips???) of my darling girl Luna, her buddies and of course Oliver, my cat.. (And maybe a pic of my brother for Sally )

Any ideas? Brand, pixels??? Give me a few pointers...

Thank you all

J

PS.. It shouldnt be too big, as I would want to bring it on dogwalks, beach trips etc...

We've got a Nikon coolpix 3100. It's got 3,2 mega pixels and 14 scene modes (whatever they are ) It's not a bad little camera and small enough to pop into your bag

We're thinking of getting a new digital camera too.

We've narrowed it down to the Canon Ixus 50 (5MP ~£220) or Canon Ixus 700 (7MP ~£270). The Ixus 50 is winning at the moment.

One thing is they come with really small memory cards so we would have to get a decent one on top of that. Perhaps if you're in a shop you can persuade them to discount the card if you buy the camera.

The other thing i've read is you have to be careful with their LCD displays.

Let us know what you get

Graeme

Sorry cat trod on keyboard. I was going to say.
Well the one I got on Friday was/is a Olympus mju410 4 mega pixels, 3x optical zoom and 3 x digital zoom is light and easier to hold and work. Good enough for me. But I don't know anything about them really.

Also you might want to look at ones that you don't have to point and shoot what i mean is that some digital cameras only have the lcd sreen to line up the shot and not a view finder.

uhm... I think I know wot u mean. If this is wot u mean( ):

My mum has to kinda get the camera "ready" before she can take a pic??? So she's finding it really hard to take pics of Luna and Oliver.

Is that wot u meant? that I shouldnt choose?
