New Rottie!!

Weve just driven 400miles (9.5hrs) to collect this fella.....




Im going into SD handling self employed and hope to get this boys potential to the front and give him the working focus he needs. If not we'll have him ship shape, socialised and trained for a lucky family. He is 15mnths, 8 stone, app 27" he's had the snip and is very healthy. He was bought by owners of a pub for there teenage son! The boy at 15 was taking him to the park etc and setting him on peeps and pulling him back at the last mo! He was taken from the boy when the parents found out and as the parents couldnt get near the dog they bunged him outside. He has since been at another home for the past 3mnths (nice lady with 2 other Rotts) but is in need of lots of training, manners etc before he starts security/protection training (all being well). First thing is a BATH

My dog met a Rottie for the first time yesterday they got on really well she was a lovely girlie!

I'll keep you all updated with pics and progress reports. He is house trained and crate trained but thats about as far as it goes. he pulls, lunges, bites, barks, bounds and air snaps at face height!! Or at least he did when we collected him, lol. Didnt take much to change his frame of mind He has met my other 2 and no troubles, my mali put her foot down and he is happy with that. We'll see what tomoz brings.

He looks great. Shame about the story but with any luck the security protection training will give him something to focus on.

Is it me or does he have a long coat ?

no, your right it is long. but I think it wont seem SO long once he's had some attention.

Ty, i have to say Im pleased to finally own one. He may not be 100% Rott tbh but its not his breed I bought him for. He has defo Rott attitude tho, lol. Very funny character. I dont know enough about them to say he is pure Rott although this is what I have been told. Certainly more Rottie than nottie

Anyone have any thoughts on long coated pure rotts or should I presume cross?

Rottis do come with long coats... it is not the result of a xbreed..

Cant think of the correct term, some say "broken coated"

But it is a genuine trait to the breed...I know a few long coated ones...all 100% Rotti
