Smells = memories

Following on from Lel's thread I have just recalled the smell of carbolic soap reminds me of my Nan.

What smells bring memories back to you good or bad?

my nan used to use perming lotion and i saw some the other day so brought a bottle
brought back alot of happy memories

Slipping between freshly laundered sheets and the lovely smell of starch from my army days

oranges and a hint of tobacco reminds me of visiting my nan and grandad when i was young

Pipe tobacco reminds me of my Dad.

Whenever we went to stay she always made us put some on b4 we went to bed

hmm.. the smell of fresh sheets reminds me of visiting my nan .

and the smell of alcohol, especially red wine and whisky is a bad memory of living with an alcoholic when i was younger and i work in a pub.. not good combination!

oh.. and this strange.. very stinky smell that i sometimes geta whiff of reminds me of my long gone cat leo, he used to have this horrible smell about him sometimes. so its a comforting smell when it comes around, even tho its horrible.
