That happened to my old dog Patch years ago it was cystitis (sp?) course of antibiotics he was fine..
they told me it was unusual for a male dog but down to the lenght of the ureatha and his not very long as he was a small dog.

Hope thats is all it is with your pup.

Thanks for all the reply's! sorry i've taken so long to post again as i've been in work until now my oh took charlie to the vets this morning with my mum and they gave him a good check over it looks like he has got a urine infection and has been prescribed antibiotics have to take him back in a week to see how he is? i also have to take a sample of his wee in to the vets this may be difficult? anyway will keep you all updated when i know anything else!
p.s. Love this forum some very very careing people on here have tried to get my mother to join up as she has just bought a gsd but she thinks she's to old lol. Thanks again to everyone!

Great news. I had to get a sample from my old bitch Roxy this morning - of course, it's much easier with the girls - but you'll find a way. Delighted to hear your young'un is going to be ok.

Please tell your mum she's never too old - lots of us on here are ancient, so she'll be in good company!
