Hi everyone how responded to this thread,

I've finally cracked it, it's taken a while but this morning Max has been a dream to groom he just stood there I used a comb, a brush and a rubber mit thingy on him today and he never flinched just tried to lick my face and chew my ear off

The tip with putting stuff on the wall really helped i put a little bit of the kong paste on there and he stood whilst i brushed him and i gradually lessoned the amount on the wall this morning i've moved position and brushed him outside and he was perfect so thank you all for the advice
