I would allow a collie pup to go at 6 weeks...IF the home was experienced and had other dogs.

Not my only concern about it to be honest. The home isn't experienced either. Just seems to be that they're out for the money.

Seen it all before Jackie..... sadly I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole, and a very long one at that! I don't like that ad at all, I've seen it so many times when I was searching for my puppy, and I nearly got caught out myself if it hadn't of been for the fact that when they sent me pics, the puppies had shavings in their fur Not my ideal way of buying a puppy, but then some people don't know of any other way do they. They search the free-ads or the local rag and just go out and buy

So it's not just me that doesn't like the look of the ad then? I was beginning to think I was being too suspicious. I wish I knew my friends were looking for a pup before they got this one. I'd have given them some advice beforehand. Just hope she's healthy, that's my biggest concern!

Why, out of curiosity?

While 6 weeks is on the fringe of too early, I would rather see it than 12 weeks or later.

That does seem expensive for an unregistered dog. It may make a good pet. Better a BYB than a puppy mill or pet store.

I wouldn't touch them with someone else's bargepole.

Not wishing to answer for Tassle nor voicing an opinion myself but I am aware of some very experienced owners that would not consider a pup unless they could get it at 6 weeks.

The argument being that socialisation through this period is of critical importance and that they were not willing to abdicate that responsibility to a bunch of villanous puppy littermates.
