I need decorating inspiration!!

My hubby has a week off next week and he's decided he wants to re-decorate the kitchen which is really nice but i'm struggling to pick a colour as i'm not really that fussed about it being done. I promised i'd choose a colour by the time he returns from sea this weekend and i'm no closer to deciding!

So anywhere here's my kitchen:

We do have cupboard doors on the cupboard under the sink now!!:

I quite like the yellow that it is at the moment, was thinking of going for a richer, deeper yellow but just not sure.

Suggestions please!!!

I like the colour it is now also!

I wouldn't go for anything much darker. I used to have that in my old kitchen and it looked like egg yolk. Not for me!

If I was you I'd keep the pale yellow but if you fancy a change either duck egg or chocolate milkshake (pale, milky brown) would work!

I think because the units are light that a nice rich colour like you say would look really nice.

Teal blue would look nice or burnt orange

I do quite like the duck egg blue type colours but i'm worried that it'll look too cold and uninviting in a blue?

The units don't help matters - i absolutely hate them but we don't want to inject much more cash into this house as we're hoping to move this year

Yes, the units and the tiles are quite grey so I would avoid blues.

Why does it NEED re-decorating?

I meant duck egg not teal - honest I did

You could always paint the unit doors instead? I think you can get a special paint.

It doesn't strictly need redecorating. The ceiling, skirting boards and door frames etc need redoing badly but the walls themselves aren't too bad. Plus if he does the kitchen then he'll have something to do other than playing PS3 all day every day!

I did think about painting the doors but then they're so cheap and naff i'm not even sure a lick of paint would do them any favours!

Damn, you've got me wanting to do mine now and I really ought to leave the kitchen alone and do the living room. Such a pain in the backside as there's so much stuff in the way.
