Raw diet variety

I put this in the Raw feeding section, but didn't get any replies. So I thought more people might see it in this section

Bryan has totally gone off turkey now. He'll eat chicken wings, but no other part of the chicken. And he won't eat rabbit either. I'm a bit miffed that he won't eat chicken as I can get it cheap (snarf!), but he's never been that keen on it. I'm battling with him to get him to eat the last bit of turkey mince, but I think my foster dog will end up getting it if he doesn't eat it tonight (it's going to go stinky soon).

So I'm giving him beef (mince, heart, kidney, liver, ox tail, brisket), pork (chops, ribs, kidney, liver, he won't eat pork heart), lamb (chops, mince, heart, ribs, kidney, liver) and whole mackerel and tripe.

Is this enough variety do you think? Obviously he doesn't get all this in a week (he's only little), but that's his total menu.

It think it sounds perfect.... mine get mainly mutton with very occasional other meats, and they've been thriving on that for over 2 years now.

It sounds great .... your dog is a lucky boy!

Thanks for the comments

It's funny when we've been shopping and my OH is putting stuff in the freezer. He'll look at something and say 'Oooo what are you going to cook with that?' and I'll say 'It's for the dog.'

He even gets steak if I find it in the reduced section

I didn't know there was a raw feeding section. I've just started feeding raw so would be very interested. Where is it?

What you're sounding sounds like a huge variety to me!! But I'm a complete beginner with raw feeding. You've given me some ideas though

Here's what mine get:
Minced rabbit, beef, lamb
Lamb and pork chops
Breast of lamb
Tinned tuna occasionally (I can't get fresh fish)
Pork ribs now and again

Roxy is the only one that can tolerate chicken, so I rarely buy it.

Don't forget to feed tripe once in a while as well, it stinks to high heaven, but is extremely good for your pup! Just keep it frozen until a few hours until your pup's going to have dinner!

Tripe. whilst a good thing to eat and often enjoyed lots by dogs, isn't a necessary requirement for the raw diet. If you can feed it, great, if not, it's no biggie.
