Shona, those videos were shocking! That poor little terrier with that great big rottie

It reminded me of Bryan - he likes jumping on big dogs backs He played with a 3 legged GSD this morning. He was a really friendly dog, but I couldn't let the foster dog near him in case she was too rough.

So many owners of small dogs pick their dogs up as soon as they see a bigger dog approaching. It happens to us all the time. How do they ever expect their dogs to socialise with others? No wonder they become fearful aggressive when their owners automatically become fearful FOR them!

It bugs me when people pick their dogs up. It only makes it more interesting for the other dog, so it's more likely to jump up to se what's so special

I have a little dog and always pick her up as she has been jumped on and attacked by big dogs so many times its not worth taking the chance of a vet bill and an owner that says "oh ive never seen him/her do that before

I remember a few years ago whe Baileywas about 2-3 ish and Willow was only about 6-7 months or so of age, and I was walking them both through the local park, in the distance I saw a fella walking in our direction with approx 8 dogs running about him all off lead, yorkies, Jr's etc all barking and yapping, they saw us and headed stright for us, I shouted to the fella will you call your dogs as I dont know how the big boy will react, his reply oh they wont harm a big dog like that he tried to call his dogs non of them payed any attention to him, next minute we were totally surrounded by these dogs yapping and snapping at the big boy, Willow was confused by it all, and tried to get under bailey for protection, I in the mean time am trying to hold bailey so he dosnt grab one of the littlte dogs, and I look to the back of Bailey and TWO JR's are trying to hump his back legs he looked like he had pantaloons on, I was totally surprised that my boy didnt kick off with them but I think he was totally overwhelmed eventually the fella grabs the two humpers and walks on very fastly calling his dogs, they decided they had done enough damage and ran off after him, I was furious, yet after all this bystanders were tut tuting at my dogs as if it was their fault, I even overhead one woman saying there should be seperate parts in the park for big dogs like them (I wont go into what my response was to that remark for fear of getting banned) lol. suffice to say I dont do that park anymore too many morons IMO
