marking in the house

any suggestions how I deal with this ?
I know its more than likely due to the fact that we have a 7 month old bitch probably due for coming in season quite soon

But he will pee on anything even when the doors open sometimes for him to have access to outside.
I cant tell him off if I dont see him do it (which the majority of the time I dont) as he wont know what its for-
so anyone have any ideas how to handle it ?
He is not neutered by the way and is two ( and full of hormones I think)

PS he only seems to do it when no ones there- always asks to go outside when we are home

Awww Lel your little girl's growing up

Unfortunately I have no idea how to stop him from marking as Jas NEVER marked in the house all through Tam's season. I don't know why, he just didn't.

I will have a look in a book i've got and get back to you if I find anything

No suggestions for your particular situation other than vigilance & correction when you catch him in the act. You are probably right in that the bitch scent is causing him to mark. Perhaps confinement to one room, or a crate, when you are not there could minimize the problem? You can buy belly bands, but I have no idea of their effectiveness.

My dogs, male & female, are not allowed to mark territory. They pee when I tell them to & at no other time. I also know the owner of a stud who has never allowed him to mark, only to pee on command. I think, however, that this training would need to start from a very young age.

Hi guys.... firstly I'm guessing a belly band is like a body wrap... you can use a t'shirt and put it on the dog tying it so that it kinda wraps the whole dog.... including his penis, so that he's less likely to pee.....

Secondly.... If I ask you this question..... 'Does your dog know where he is spose to pee' what is your answer... think about it honestly...... If you are sure he know's that it's not OK to pee inside then why do you have to catch him in the act, You can point to the pee and still tell him its not acceptable.... He will know it's his pee.. I have entire males and they will pee inside if given half the chance.... but that is only if your dog realises he's not spose to do it........ If you have any doubt at all.. then it's back to toilet training.......

Thanks Kimbastaff-
he DEFINATELY knows hes only allowed to wee outside
Hes been great since a pup with housetraining except for the very odd time when he was younger.
He will always come up and give a grunt to go out.
Its defo all to do with Libs- just dont know how to deal with it for the best

Luckily Toesy never did it, good job with 2 bitches in the house coming into season at different times
Sorry I can't offer any more advice than what has already been given.
