Yoyo ~ Super Sweet & Cat Friendly - 4yo Black Greyhound

YOYO

Yoyo is a 4 year old ex-racing greyhound girl. She has been handed in to us to find her forever retirement home now that her racing days are behind her. Yoyo is in great condition with a beautifully smooth black coat. She has huge, liquid brown eyes that are very expressive.

~ Personality ~
Yoyo is a very sweet tempered girl who just wants to be loved. She has a wonderful, affectionate nature and it doesn’t take long for this girl to melt your heart. She is responsive to people and enjoys your company, giving her a great potential to learn a few tricks for her new owners.

~ Other Animals ~
Yoyo has a very amiable personality and wants to get on with everyone. She is dog savvy and enjoys canine company, especially now that she is learning what toys are all about. She likes to run offlead in our enclosed paddock, but always comes back for a head rub. Yoyo has also passed her initial cat test so is likely suitable to live with felines. This will be tested more thoroughly before we deem her as fit to go to a home with cats, but cat homes are encouraged to apply for her now.

~ In the Home ~
Yoyo has not been in a home environment, but will soon be moving in to a foster home to see if she can live with a cat on close quarters. This will give her a chance to get used to the home life and learn about what its like to live in a home. It shouldn’t take this girl long to settle in, generally all greyhounds need is 1-2 weeks before they adjust to the changes and start to relax.

~ Out and About ~
Like many greyhounds, Yoyo is a low energy girl and will not need a huge amount of exercise. She will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch her legs offlead in a secure area once or twice a week.

~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

~ Where Am I? ~
Yoyo is currently being kennelled in Ireland, and will be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe when a suitable foster or permanent home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point to pick her up, and if you are in the UK and wish to meet before adopting her, she will be fostered in the Norfolk area.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Yoyo is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting Yoyo, please email me (Tam) for our adoption application form and information pack. Emails are usually replied to within 24hrs. Thanks!

~~ KERRY GREYHOUND CONNECTION ~~

Kerry Greyhound Connection is a small voluntary organisation that has bases in Co. Kerry, Ireland and Norfolk, England. It operates through a network of volunteers spaced over Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe. We can look after approximately 70 greyhounds at any one time, in Ireland and the UK.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and given a full veterinary check before being adopted.
We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in Ireland, the UK, Central Europe and the USA.

If interested in one of our hounds, please EMAIL me for our adoption application form and information pack. Once you have filled in and returned the application form, we will then telephone you to discuss adopting one of our hounds in more detail.

I can be contacted through the following email:
