Here comes... Dogsey!

We've done it - we've gone global! Please welcome Dogsey, the new name for So why Dogsey I hear you ask? Well, choosing a suitable name that met all criteria has been one of the most difficult tasks I've faced! Primarily the name needed to:
  • be very unique on the web, because we're a unique site with unique members
  • be a name that sounded like a nickname or pet name (we are a pet site after all!) something that would make the site sound like a character or personality rather than a simple amalgamation of two words
  • be equally appealing to both men and women - it even has a laddish feel to it, like Ryan Giggs' nick name Giggsy and Bugsy (Malone) and yet it can still sound 'posh' like the surname Pheasey...
  • be flexible enough so that our sister site for cats could join in (goodbye, hello!)
  • be short and snappy
  • be all the above to guarantee the .com of the name wasn't signed up already! (harder than you might think!!)
  • be 'different' different because that's how we've always been!
  • be bold and brave :-p
  • be the best!

I think we succeeded on all counts!

It will probably take you a week or so to start getting used to the name so please don't worry if it feels strange at first - that's only natural! It may even take months for it to start sinking in properly

I hope you like the name as much as I do... I can assure you it will grow on you (like a new puppy!) I really do appreciate it will be strange saying goodbye to our old name that we've become so fond of over the years. Its completely natural to feel that way and just goes to show how much you care for the site - I'm sure you'll feel the same way about the new 'addition' to your family too .

Onwards and upwards... watch out world, here comes Dogsey!

Woof Woof!

Please note you will need to log in again even if you clicked 'remember me' on the old sites log-in, this is because the old cookie that saved your log-in preferences was only valid for the old address.

Please update your links and bookmarks - the new address is: www. the old address will eventually stop working.
