I certaintly will tell them Kazz.

Do you think it would be a good idea for me to give them an old t-shirt of mine when she goes, just to reassure her?

Yes, and get the new owner to put one of theirs in her bed too. Send her to her new home with all her toys, her bedding (unwashed), her basket, etc. so that she has familiar things around to help her settle in. After she has had a day or two to settle then your t-shirt should be removed.
