Thanks for the reply - yes, I'm the lady with the lurcher. Will give the toy a try (although she has not shown much interest in squeaky toys). I agree that giving her attention (even if negative) will make it worse and I will try praising the quiet behaviour (dogs are just like children!!)

try teaching the speak command . then the quiet one . pm me if you need advice to how to teach them i have them written down .. works for me
