A Word of Warning

My husband John, a few weeks ago, felt a spot near his right eye, it got a little bigger and felt bumpy, I looked at it and said, dont worry its only a spot. He was not happy about it and went to the doctor, who said he would have to have it cut out. 6 internal stiches and 6 outer ones later the doctor assured John he had it all removed and was sending it away to be tested, but felt positive there was nothing to worry about. Last Friday we got a call from the doc to say that it was malignant, and was caused by the sun, we were both in terrible shock, and still are, John has to watch for any little thing that appears now and immediatly go and get it checked. 2 lessons to be learnt here, be careful in the sun and get little things checked out, thankfully John got it checked or it could have been a very different story.

That goodness he caught it early and didn't let it go. Alot of men can be really bad for going to the doctor. Fingers crossed nothing else reoccurs

Just goes to show, an innocent little "spot", but glad he did the right thing and hopefully it's now all sorted for good, and I mean that!

My husband has some very weird lumps and bumps under his skin on his arms and one on his leg, but he just won't go to the doctor's. He says he's had them for ages, but what comfort is that quite honestly! I am going to keep a strict eye on them myself and if I think they've got any bigger or different, he'll be dragged there.

I never sit out in the sun now, I always find the shade, and use my fake tans for the summer. I know it sounds daft, but to me, the sunshine isn't the same as it used to be in my youth, and I think that tells you that it's a lot more dangerous nowadays. That's just my thinking though, but something tells me to keep well out of it now, whereas I was the first one to get out their bikini clad and lie in it all day long!
