Getting all ready for Scruffts!

On Thursday morning, we will be heading down to London for Scruffts at Discover Dogs on Saturday and we are all really looking forward to it.

Tomorrow I will be preparing Roxy by giving her a Zoom Groom and a wipe over, as well as trimming and filing her nails and brushing her teeth. Easy maintenance dog. Well, if you don't count the amount of hair that seems to be coming out of her at the moment when she's being Zoom Groomed! She'll obviously get another groom on Saturday morning!

The Scruffts judge is Peter Purves and I'm really pleased about that. He obviously appears to know his dog breeds and has an excellent knowledge of dogs in general, so hopefully he'll know a cracking little dog when he sees one!

I'm really proud of Roxy as she has come on leaps and bounds this past 3 and a half years (quite literally, sometimes ) and has blossomed in to a very well behaved, fantastic natured dog. She has always had a superb temperament, even considering her awful past history, but she was a tad on the wild side to start with! I.e. A 5 and a half year old Basenji x BC who has had absolutely next to nothing training wise! You can imagine, I'm sure! Apart from the use of a shock collar by her previous "owners" but we won't go in to that apart from to say that they haven't got a clue! A bit of hard work, love and dedication was all it took.

We'll be meeting up with a couple of Dogsey members while we're there so I'm sure it'll be an absolute riot and we'll have a great time.

Okay, so she's no use at agility (well, hopeless at doing it the right way!), but that's fine. No problem. I dare say had we had her from a puppy that might've been different but probably not, you know what she's like!
