IBD in dogs and food choices

Anyone have any experience with IBD in dogs? Our dog just got diagnosed and we need to find a new brand of food with a novel protein. She's previously had chicken,beef, lamb, salmon and I think duck in treats....so it cant be one of those. Looking at Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Venison or Bison forumlas. Anyone has experice with those or any tips to share on IBD??

I had a dog with IBD and as long as I stayed away from the protein that was the cause she was fine. I hope you are able to find a food she can tolerate.

Out of curiosity, how did you diagnose it? Did you do the biopsy route?

Yep pork and squash or sweet potato.

Yes she had an endoscope and a biopsy taken. Her symptoms were diarrhoea with coffee ground like blood in it.

What kind of food was she on before?

Did it contain grains or pulses/beans/legumes?

In the past 2 years she's been on Blue Buffalo Lamb and Rice. In the past she's had brands with salmon, turkey, chicken, and duck. We had went to BB trying to clear up anal gland issues, which I'm now assuming were due to allergies!

My 11 year old Rat Terrier, Lexie, has just been diagnosed with IBD. She has been prescribed I/D dog food, but doesn't like it. Can anyone help?
