Hi everyone,

By the time I got there on Friday, I was completely a wreck and trembling when the nurse called my name to go in for the examination. I thought I'd be sick on the spot. Sid was with me all the time and held my hand throughout. Couldn't have done it without him, he was fantastic support.

The specialist couldn't see anything at all, even after putting this solution on that showed up cancer cells. She said she saw nothing that would arouse her suspicions of it being cancer, but just to be 100% she took 3 biopsies to be sent off and checked.

The results will be back within 7-10 days. So at least she didn't see anything immediate which was a relief, but nontheless, I'll feel better once I know what the biopsies say that's for sure.

We've had 2 weeks from hell - on Friday I went with my sister to the Doctors (same one I work in) as she'd had pains in her side for some time and they'd got the results from a scan they did on her. They think it may be cancer for her too, we couldn't believe it - both of us having a suspected cancer referral within a week of one another. You couldn't make it up (not of course that anyone would want to). She's holding up well, her appointment is tomorrow afternoon. I just hope and pray it turns out to be just a scare. Because of where it is, I'm not certain they will be able to tell her tomorrow as she needs a laparoscopy.

I do hope our familys luck starts getting better soon!

I have to say it was the single most traumatic time I've ever had and I really symapathize with anyone who has to go through the same thing.

That's almost unbelievable AM that both of you have had such a scare in a week! I remember when I had a call back only 2 days after a mammory test 10 years ago, and when he checked me out with the ultrasound, he too could find nothing sinister, so I told him it was probably scar tissue from a previous cyst I had many years ago which just went, and so he agreed but said they would have to keep an eye on me. I have now had 2 more mammories since then, one only last week, and I was hoping and praying that I wouldn't get a letter within 2 days, but then On Saturday I got the all clear letter, and I can't tell you how relieved I was, it means it must still look the same. I remember that first time though, when I came out of there and told Dave that it should be ok the specialist thought it was probably old scar tissue, he cried like a baby when we got back in the car!! I know just how you must have felt when you came out of there, unlike a lot of poor people

I'm so very sorry to hear about your sister, and let's just hope and pray and send some of our fantastic Dogsey positive vibes that she'll be ok. What on earth can be the problem though with cancer showing up on her side??? Is it bone cancer or something they think possibly? I am so very sorry, but they do wonders upon wonders nowadays don't they, so you'll just have to hang on to that hope. Sending every possible good luck vibe that it's just another scare like yours was, and good luck with your results too, but I'm sure you'll be ok by the sounds of it. Take care, lots of hugs.xxxxxxxxx
