Off to try and get everyone in the garden and pup to wee and poo.

Maybe I'll take the camera outwith me

No worries Rune - no rush either, just trying to learn a little more, I have some insight but there are some things I mix up and get confused with..

Hmm let me have another go..

1st pic
Tupac's ear's back (assuming it's Tupse) tongue out - licking lips? appeasement signal? and crouched to the floor - perhaps going into a submissive roll? P*ssed Flea off?

2nd and 3rd pic
Same as above just different angle?

4th pic
No idea but Flea's tail is high (could be the breed/mix though) kinda looks like fun police? A play photo?

I'm going to say the 5th is a very embracing greeting Can't see Zeff's tail properly but I guess he wasn't happy about it?

The last one - thats a hard one..

Please tell me I'm nearly right - haven't been watching behaviour long..

Same with putting the head over the shoulders of another dog, it's a bit bolshy and the other dog could well object. The main things I look out for is stiffness of body. For example the photo of the Flattie (in my humble opinion), the Flattie looks relaxed about the whole thing, Dexter on the other hand doesn't look too perturbed but does look vaguely concerned by the action, but I doubt this would come to anything and might encite play. But if the bodies are stiff, or still, then you might get an objection. Some dogs natural play behaviour can upset other dogs, some are very paw orientated, Cain used to think that leaping full force onto another dogs back was a great way to ask them to play apparently the neck grab thing is very GSD, yet some other dogs might find it rude. Sorry I'm sort of rambling and I'm unsure of the conclusion of my post

I agree very much with what you say. When a dog approaches with a stiff or rigid posture I take it as a bit of a warning, and have been proven right a few times.

Re the pics:

Yes, the Flattie is Dex's girlfriend and they play beautifully together, they're a couple of lunatics

The GSD and Great Dane: had only met very recently but went on to play really nicely together and became good mates.

The Rhodesian Ridgeback: spotted the stiff posture? He's the least sociable of all the dogs we regularly walk with. He will come over to check out the dogs but woe betide any dog that gets too excited - the Ridgeback will really tell'em off!!

Dex and the Poodle X: that is Daisy his best mate, so his head over her back is purely playful and doesn't seme to bother her

yip 1st 2nd and 3rd is Tupac deliberately winding flea up to get a 'zoomie' going... its all in good fun

4th..u got flea right, was play that turned into tupac putting manners on his little bro...and flea coming over to police it

5th... jeff got floored...all over very quickly tho promise

last pic the same 'flooring' but flea decided he wasnt needed and the bro's should sort it out themself

That's really kind of you to remember Yes, this is indeed her!

The dogs that can play best with her are the GSDs, it seems

Unfortunately, there is no recall in place with her and apparently the other week she spooked one of the less sociable GSDs and it bolted clean out of the park and headed for a motorway. Thankfully his owner managed to grab him in time!
