New computer help please.

My sister is in the process of getting a new computer but she isn't a big user of computers so doesn't want a really expensive one. She wants to pay up to about £500 for one.

I have just looked on Pc World online and found this one and wondered whether it looked okay.

Could someone have a look at this link please and let me know whether this is okay. I am not too sure about the 80GB hard disk drive though - is that enough?

what version of Windows do you have? On mine i click on c:\ and on the left hand side a graph comes up with 10gb above it. (yeah i know works pc's are rubbish )

That PC looks OK Fox, but for that price i would buy a dell pc. If she doesn't use it a lot you can get ones from there for about £300 and thier guarentee is fantastic. So have a look on thier website. dell.com

Foxy 80GB is plenty. That one at pc world says it has a CD rewriteable drive, but just says DVD...it doesn't say whether it writes to DVD though.Depends whether she wants to be able to save stuff on DVD.
For information on your system look in your programs list, click on Accessories, then Systen Tools then System info. It gives you a lot of info about things in there, also in Control Panel under System

Oh right thanks Dobie - I've done that and it says used 20.6GB and free space 159 GB and capacity 180GB.

Does this mean my computer is 180GB where as the one in the link is only 80GB then I don't understand these GB's at all

Ignore that, 80 GB (Giga Bytes) is a lot. Its basiaclly a Hard Drive Fox, where EVERYTHING is saved. so all photos, music, documents & software. If she hardly uses it for anything than 80 GB will be plenty
