Help with Tom Tom Sat Nav. thingy please

O/H's Tom Tom sat nav system is not working, apparently because he's run down the back-up battery, and his pc man says he will need to re-load the memory. Our pc man is too busy though and is going on holiday too, so can we do it ourselves - somehow? Maybe there's somewhere I can download the memory as we don't have the disc to do it, coz it is sort of 2nd hand! It's on a Ipac PDA if that helps!

Hi Helena is the actual problem with the tom tom side or the actual ipaq?
What model is the PDA that you got?

Had a quick look on HP site and you can download software such as drivers and the like just need to know your model number.

Thanks for getting back Leo. Dave will give me details tomorrow on it, coz he's stuck in his chair today!! He doesn't know offhand, until he goes out to the car and gets it! Thanks again though, will get back to you.

The iPaq has an area of memory which does get erased if the battery dies. If the application is installed into that area, it will need re-installing. This may be as simple as re-synching the iPaq with the PC using the Activesync software (assuming some form of backup had been done). If that isn't possible, the TomTom software may need to be re-installed.

Thanks Roy, yes you're right there, as hubby says that's what his pc mate has told him (10 min. job) He has the back up disc of course, we don't! Trouble is, he's so very busy travelling around the Country fixing pc's at the moment and we're desperate to get this thing fixed. Looks like we might have to just wait until we see him then I suppose. Thanks for all your trouble guys, we'll just have to sit tight then, and wait!
