Dogs Trust Donation - Food or money?

Today is the day we collect Bobby.

My grandparents are wanting to give a donation to the Dogs' Trust.

Would it be better to give them a cheque? Or give them a few big sacks of decent dry food food? We are happy to take the food to Dogs' Trust in Uddingston or get it shipped straight to them.

Thanks.

To be honest I think they would be very grateful for whatever you give them, I'd probably do both.....but then I'm a soft touch.

They're always overly grateful for anything! I take dog beds, quilts, dog food and they're always soooooo grateful when I put it all in the corner. Makes me feel good too! Good luck with the new boy, and maybe do both as Steph has suggested, a bit of each.

Good idea, Steph, thanks. I'll suggest it to them, I'm sure they'd be more than happy to do that as they are soft touches too when it comes to animals.

Thanks, Helena. I bet they are as well.

I have shampoo, leads, towels and toys that they could have too. These two have to many toys, and don't need any more just now!

Do you reckon they'd take pillows that are in good condition?

I'll suggest both to them.

I had heard though that some rescues only take tinned food. Is this right?

I'm sure they'll take pillows to pad out a hard bed for maybe an oldie! I've often taken bags of dried food in the past and they always took them with grateful thanks!

Brilliant. I'll make sure they get the old pillows as well.

Good luck with the new dog, can't wait to see pics!

Perfect! Thanks for that, Sarah.

My granda is collecting him tonight from ours, so I'll get some pictures then. And we're all going for a walk tomorrow, so more pics!
