Just recieved some bad news

Hi all,
My Dad has just rung,my Stepmum has fell down the stairs and broken her leg Not a normal break the doctors have had to operate and put a plate in along with some pins and screws
She's really upset with christmas so close and Dad has had to take time off work.They have been invited away for New Year which is looking doubtful
We would visit but it's an hour and half each way,so i said i'd send a card and some chocs in the mail,maybe get my brother to get some flowers off the kids.

What bad news, its bad enough at any time of year but over christmas when most people have so much planned.
I wish her a speedy recovery. x

That's terrible news Sal, it must be bad for them to have operated so quickly on it too, poor woman. I don't think she'll be going anywhere over Christmas after that fall. My Mum recently broke her ankle and wasn't allowed to put it to the floor for 6 weeks until the plaster came off it, plus she had to sit with it elevated most of the time, so it's going to be a struggle for your Mum over Christmas I'm sure. Hope she copes ok with it, and your poor Dad too coz he'll have to do a lot for her like I did for Mum, hope he's up to it!
