Wellingtons

With the delicious cooler autumn weather upon us I am searching for some wellies for OH and I to use in the garden....we don't fancy getting up at 2am and 5am to let a pup out to toilet and end up with wet jean bottoms...you get the drift

Can anyone recommend suitable wellies that we could stuff our jeans into and that don't cost a fortune - I saw the hunters brand and just about fell over at the price of them £50 - £75...considering what they are made out of they shouldn't cost that much!

So your wellies brand recommendations and hot websites would be greatly appreciated.

xmc with wet jean cuffs at the present moment

I bought my traditional green wellies from a shoe shop and cost me about £10 but I do only have small feet and managed to get 'em from the kiddies section

Have a look at Muckboots. They are fab - made with 'wetsuit' technology and therefore warm as well as waterproof (great for us cold souls whose circulation stops at the knees between November and March)
More expensive than plain old wellies but in a different league for comfort.

Good luck

I saw them on ebay too but I'm still struggling with the price think it's because I've got big feet.

I'll keep looking, you never know when a bargain might crop up

Thanks

Thanks DM

I'll check them out and see if there are any bargains to be had - good idea about the warmth!

Hi MC
I get my wellies from The Yorkshire Clothing Company, I normally buy them from their stand at a show but I know they have a website. Mine cost £12 and they are good and sturdy, green but with a nice Matte finish and a buckle on the side so that you can make them fit snug.

My son gave them me for my xmas pressie last year (he is one of the best pressie-purchasers I know!) Hadn't heard of them before that.
However OH googled and found a supplier to buy a pair for himself (he was jealous of mine!)
Think they are about £30 - but they are great. Comfy summer and winter without huge bulky socks (don't you find socks always try to escape over your instep and creep down to your toes?)
