I don't really mind, I guess if people want to put clothes on their dog that's their prerogative. In fact, I'd be more shocked to walk around London and not see at least one dog in a a t shirt etc

There is a whole world of difference between wearing a practical coat for cold/wet weather and dressing a dog in actual clothes.

Ludi does have a t shirt that he has worn when it has been very cold, it is a boring plain black one, and I see that as totally practical.

What I cannot stand it dressing them up in dresses and outfits etc, they are not dolls nor babies. Neither are they fashion accessories to be paraded about in stupid bags/prams.

I'd rather see dogs in clothes than see them neglected. Other than for practical reasons, it's something that wouldn't float my boat, but most of the pampered pooches are well looked after and much loved so what the heck

Ours sometimes wear "uniforms" when they are doing charity work. This was at a Starlight Foundation event.

I have no problem with dressing up your dog as long as the clothes do not cause the dog to over heat or be uncomfortable. My lab has enough coat to keep him warm but Bryan, my little Pug x JRT has a very thin coat and gets cold. As a very girly girl, I figure that if he needs to wear some thing to keep him warm it might as well be 'bang on trend'!!!!! I do however draw the line at booties!! IN reality, all he has is a little black t-shirt and a roll- neck jumper.

Duncan has t.shirts and boots, rugby sweater, coats and jumpers. Most to keep his grass allergy under control and others for warmth. Much prefer him having a happy non itchy life wearing his clothes than just because dogs have their own coats keep him itchy and with weeping sores etc.

Several paople have made derogatory comments when I walk him - better to scoff and sneer it seems than ask why he is dressed.

Unless there is a reason behind it I hate it. The in laws (to be) bought all the dogs a tee each for Christmas, I let them wear them for the day, but they're in the cupboard now and they haven't worn them since.

My brother's GF has a yorkie - she has a whole wardrobe, but most of it is worn when it's freezing - she even has a parka jacket!

Nothing wrong with it for a giggle but I do think it shows what I consider an alarming attitude to the dog when it's a regular way of life. They're not toys or accessories, they deserve and need to be regarded as dogs first and foremost.Stopping now before it becomes a rant..
