Help please....

Ok, Sony computer has just come back from being repaired, on the sheet it said it had a new main board and BIOS update.....trouble is every so often the blue screen of death appears, and disappears as fast as it arrived....I've managed to catch some of the writing, it says if it's had a BIOS update to disable the shadowing or something like that

Does anybody know how I get into the BIOS??

Thanks, I'm in work now till 10.30pm, so I'll check in when I get back.

Sharon

Snap! Get back onto them. Don't try and sort it yourself. You've paid them to do the job. Make sure they sort it out.

Actually it was out of warranty, but the graphics card went, my machine is a Sony Vaio VGC-LT1S, it's built like an Apple PC all the workings behind the screen, no tower unit, the graphics card went and it was soldered onto the motherboard, so couldn't be replaced, phoned Sony and they said there was a fault on this model and that they would arrange collection and repair free of charge - which they did! So can't fault them on that.

I vaguely remember that when I had a BIOS problem my son had to manually change the jumpers. Not for the faint-hearted. I`d send it back.

Called Sony this morning and they have agreed to send me the full recovery discs free of charge, they said once these are reinstalled it will correct the BIOS problem.
