Does Your Dog Fart A Lot?

Hi my name is Mario! I am so happy to join your forums! I have a cute Chihuahua puppy named Yoshi! He is always farting haha! So we made a funny Christmas video about it to make you laugh! I hope you like it haha!
Merry Christmas!

Does your dog fart a lot too? Or is it just a Chihuahua thing?

Lots of dogs fart but none of mine do even though Pugs are apparently well known farters, my lot are raw fed.

Nope! My daughter has 2 chihuahuas, both are raw fed, and neither of them have a gas problem. For the past nearly 20 years I have raw fed large wolf crosses, and again no wind problems! It is the carbohydrate in kibble and biscuits that cause excessive gas - in both humans and dogs.

No. I feed grain free, so very little gas.

My dogs are fed properly and therefore don't have smelly wind

My dogs eat raw and wind is rare. Only when they've been snacking something forbidden when out on the moors. Like rotting sheep carcasses.

May I suggest to the OP, rather than laughing at your poor dog - take a good look at his diet and perhaps change to one that agrees with his digestive system.

YES! Especially after they chew up an antler... those farts are the worst!

Both mine are fed on a "home cooked" diet and the only time they've had the farts was when I added cabbage to their veggies!

We feed Copper grain-free food so he does not have a lot of gas. He also gets cooked meats with his food.
