i am at the hospital on tuesday to find out when i am gonna have my shunt put into my brain

am nervous about it but also feel that my conditon is that bad that i need it sooner rather than later

Oh Jackie, you are so brave honey. Let's hope it's done quickly - sometimes the waiting is just the worst part!
Big hugs sweetie - we'll be thinking of you on Tuesday xox

That doesn't sound very pleasant at all Jackie, I didn't know about this! Poor you, I hope it all goes to plan and painfree for you too. I bet you're bricking it, as we all would be! Will be thinking of you Tuesday, all the very best.xxxxx

Jackie, that is a big decision to be told. Could you perhaps ask if it could be after your holiday?
I know with big things, (like Charlie's op) they are very good about fitting in with things like that if it can be done.
That way you can have your holiday first.
I shall be thinking of you anyway, but as you say you do need to procedure to get back to 'normal'.
Big hugs, Becky xxx

Thank you Helen
yes i have a condition called benign intercranial hypertension
my younger sister has it too, she had a shunt fitted a few years ago now and is back working and has full sight, so i am hoping it will do the same for me, but sometimes it dont work

Thank you Becky
tbh i do not think they will do it till after xmas, but my gp seems to think they will do it sooner
i am gonna ask if they will delay it, as i have suffered for 8 months, a little while longer wont hurt, and i do not wanna be recovering over xmas as it will spoil it for the kids
and i say "normal" but i dont think i have ever been normal
