Sash & Bug!
It is with great sadness and shock that I am telling you of the loss of Sasha (Goldie) and Bug (The Pug) in the last week!
I had to have Sasha put to sleep on Wednesday 8th as her back end was going and it was 'her time'. I had to think of her quality of life. She was 14 on April Fools Day!
Trust her! She had arthritis and I knew it was coming but it was still.....
If a put to sleep can be perfect, hers was! I hope you understand what I mean.
She liked being at the vets (where I work as a receptionist) as any attention is good attention! We have a lovely garden and I took her in there, she had a little roll on her back and barked for the first time in a while! The sun was shining and she had a nurse and a vet and me patting and stroking her. There was no anxiety at all on her end, she just went to sleep in the sunshine!
Bug went to sleep on the following Tuesday (14th). He had a history of slipped disc, but was coping and happy until the Sunday. He became very wobbly and unsteady, he was better on the Monday and we had a lovely day in the sunshine, but Monday his legs went again. I decided it was not fair on him to go up and down until all he knew was down and he was put to sleep in the same garden as Sasha, again in the sunshine. He just went to sleep!
The house seems very empty without them. The loss of Bug & Sasha has made a big gap. Although I have 4 other dogs (thank goodness) the gap is huge!
