Central Heating During The Day

Do you leave it on all day during the day even if you go out?
Also what is your daytime setting on your thermostat?

I leave mine on all day on the nightime temp of 15* while it is cold like this and then just up the thermostat to 20* for an hour or so if we start to feel cold. It is left on 15* when we go out.

Mines as much off as on. Temp is set at 25, and heating is on between 0530-0800 and 1700-2100. Sometimes it gets put on if we are home during the day.

Mine's off more than on, but the log burner in the conservatory is on most of the day for the dogs, the room is like a fridge otherwise despite having all the insulation built in that is available, it faces noirth and has very large roof area so is not best placed in that respect.

Mine is on all the time! lol
I have it switched to 'on, and the thermostat set at 25.
At night, it gets turned down to 20.

I'm always so cold. Don't think the windows get opened in my house!

We've had cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, new heating and new windows and doors over the past couple of months, so it's like living in a greenhouse. Heating thermostat is set at 15* so just switches itself on when needed.

Permanenly in this cold weather! I don't see the point of letting the place get cold, then the cost of heating it all back up again?? Much more sensible to leave it on a low(ish) temperature on constant so that the boiler only has to tickover imo, plus it's so much nicer to come back home into a lovely warm cosy house. After all, you leave an automatic washing machine on the go when you go off shopping don't ya, so what's the difference? A boiler isn't an open fire is it, and as long as it's kept regularly serviced and you've had the emissions checked then I really don't see the problem of leaving it on when you go out??? If there is some sort of danger hazard please tell me about it and I might think about turning mine off overnight or when I'm out during the day, otherwise I don't see the issue???
