Black berry Bush Blues

We planted a few blackberry bushes, in a spare flower bed, along the side wall, but they dont really seem to be flourishing, they have been in probably about 2 months now, and have grown in height very little, but bushed out a fair bit.
So any advice, tips, or informtaion on what to do to help it grow, or what were doing wrong?
best wishes

I can help if you want to get rid of them As soon as we see blackberries they get dug out or sprayed. They seem to flourish here without any assistance - unfortunately.

Type "growing blackberries" into Google. Lots of info, e.g.:http://eesc.orst.edu/agcomwebfile/ed...03/EC1303.html

The cultivated varieties can take a couple of years to really get established we found, they don't take off like the wild version at all !
