Bitches in season

I am wondering if anyone can tell me when a bitch has there 1st season.
She is my 1st female dog so I have not gone through it before.
I appriciate any info.

It can be any time from 6 mths onward. I've had some in at 6 mths and others have been nearly a year or more before their first.

Usually around 6-9 months old but can be as young as 5 months or as old as 18. Depends alot on breed, size and lines etc too

Some bitches can breeze through it, but mine usually start showing signs about a month before. Geting a little tetchy and short tempered occasionally, sometimes a bit quiet or a little down. More interest in their behind from other dogs in the house.
How old is she and is your other dog an unneutered male?

Usual signs are swelling of the vulva and bleeding, but its not uncommon to have one or the other

I have had bitches who had their first season at 6 months and another at 22 months so it is very varied
