Which Book?

Hi I've just looked on Amazon at dog books, & it gets mind boggling They make them all sound great!!! I like the sound of these ones, has anyone read any of them?

The 100 silliest things people tell you about dogs.
Alexander Semynova.

How to train your dog like a pro.
Jean Donaldson.

Bonding with your dog.
Victoria Schade.

I have read books in the past by - John Fisher.
John Rogerson. Peter Neville.
Also -
On Talking terms with dogs. Turid Rugaas.
Preventing Agggression. Ian Dunbar. (1986)

Also if anyone can recommend a book on training none working Whippets?

I will be very grateful for any input.

The best general training and behaviour book I know is The Culture Clash by Jean Donaldson.
I still prefer it to her latest one.

I really like Train Your Dog Like a Pro for an easy, step by step training book. Far more user friendly for the average dog owner than Culture Clash imo. Not to say CC isn't a great book, it is, it's just more than what a lot of people want. And the dvd with Train Your Dog is handy too.

Not read the others on your list but if you're looking to add to it, The Other End of the Leash by Patrica Mcconnell is a good one.

I have only got 162 books on dogs I have only got one of the three you mentioned and that is the JD one.

I have ALL her publications, and I like her style, it is similar to mine.

No idea what the others are like as have not been tempted to read them as yet.

Read Victoria Schade and its mainly , if you train and play with your dog you will have a stronger bond.
Watch me, hide a toy for dog to find.
Have considered Semynova book with a view it should debunk all false / silly things you know some dog people claim but think it would be nice to read rather than should read

I like Jean Donaldson. The Culture Clash is a facinating read that might change the way you view your dog and your approach to training. However if you are looking for a step by step training book, How to train your dig like a pro is a good read

If you haven't selected yet, you can sample some of the writing of Alexandra Semyonova here: http://www.nonlineardogs.com/100MostSillyPart1-3.html

I've enjoyed reading it.
