A lot of puppies can have a puppy murmur which usually disappears by about 16 weeks.

I dont know anything about murmurs and cockers though. Im sure someone will be able to help you.

My 8 year old springer has a heart murmur, it was picked up by the vet when he had his puppy checkup when I took him for his jabs. Its just a slight one and has never seemed to cause him any particular problems so don't worry too much yet

I would just wait and see, you'll probably have to go back for a couple of checks.

But to be honest, if it remains then I wouldn't recommend breeding from him, any fault is a fault and you don't want to risk passing it on to his off spring......be honest with yourself, would you take your bitch to a dog with a heart murmur if you were looking for a good stud dog?

But don't panic yet, he is still young and it may correct itself. If not, then you still have your beautiful orange roan little boy

Hi there A lot of puppies have a heart murmur and they grow out ot it .. there is another type of heart mumur that older dogs get which has a scale of 1-6, my girl has this ..she is 14 and was diagnosed on a routine visit to the vets about four years ago...she is now 4+ on the scale ..try not to worry too and wait for the test results, if it proves to be a 'proper' murmur as opposed to a puppies immature heart there are excellent drugs to treat it.

PS ..if it is a proper heart problem please inform the breeder.

Yeah we know, we wouldnt want to past anything on to the pups.
but fingers cross as he is only 7 weeks old it might be nothing.

was the pup vet checked by the breeders vet before he was homed with you ?
might be worth asking to see if he was clear then
